Absolutely! You would need to purchase a full loaf which is 10 – 4.5 oz cut and unlabeled bars. The price depends on the ingredients. Lead time is roughly 5 weeks (soap takes a minimum of 4 weeks to cure). Please email us at hello@dandelionnaturals.com to discuss your perfect blend of soap!
True soap is a gentle cleansing agent made up of three ingredients in various combinations: fats or oils (which are acidic), a base or alkali (most often sodium hydroxide or lye), and pure water. When the oils and the lye are slowly and gently mixed together, a chemical reaction takes place. This process is called saponification. The molecules separate and reattach themselves in a new and different pattern creating a new substance called soap. After pouring raw soap, the saponification process is complete after 24 to 48 hours. Curing the soap bars for a minimum of four weeks furthers the chemical reaction, creating a hard, longer lasting bar that cleans and nourishes your skin.
Yes. Though we are not yet Leaping Bunny certified, we never test on animals.
Yes, our products are gluten-free and safe for those with gluten allergies and sensitivities.
Our soaps are 100% natural. We only use all-natural ingredients such as plant oils, luxurious butters, raw cow milk as well as lard and beef tallow. Dandelion Naturals promises that all our products contain no artificial ingredients, fragrance, colors, or preservatives – only ingredients from the Earth.
Instead, you’ll find our soaps are naturally scented with essential oils and infused with herbs and botanicals for colors and exfoliants. Note that some natural colorants (such as charcoal and turmeric) may stain washcloths.
Many of our soaps are naturally scented with essential oils. We only use essential oils in our products (never fragrance oils) and follow The International Fragrance Association (IFRA) guidelines for the recommended use amounts.
Essential oils have been gently distilled, steamed, or extracted from live botanicals. These oils are known for their aromatherapy benefits, as well as their soothing, healing, and medicinal benefits that have been used for centuries. The meticulous extraction methods and quantity of botanicals needed to create the essential oils are why essential oils tend to be expensive and more luxurious than fragrance oils.
Fragrance oils are chemical reproductions of botanicals and other natural scents. They contain alcohol and are relatively inexpensive and easy to obtain. Fragrance oils offer no health benefit to the final product and often cause allergic reactions, dryness, and irritation. Additionally, manufacturers can legally put ANY ingredient into a fragrance without disclosing it, as it is considered a trade secret. For these reasons, we avoid fragrance oils in our formulations.
Our natural, handcrafted soaps are intentionally scented with essential oils that provide the soap with a sensory experience. The scent is to be enjoyed in the shower or bath and is not something that will linger on the skin all day. Because our essential oil blends wash off the skin, you don’t have to worry about the scents interfering with your perfume, cologne, or other body care products. The wash-off scents also help prevent irritations such as photosensitivity that can come from the use of essential oils.
A small percentage of our soaps contain palm oil, while others do not. The palm oil we use is RSPO-certified sustainable. Soaps without palm oil will be listed as such.
We aim to minimize unnecessary packaging as much as possible while still bringing you an exciting shopping experience. All our soaps are plastic-free, so we use paper wrap-around labels for our soap bar packaging to keep it simple. A sticker and tissue paper keep our round bars safely packaged, while string and paper tags are used for our cube bars.
Since all our soap is handcrafted, we do our best to describe and photograph its physical qualities. We try our hardest to duplicate batches perfectly, but because every bar of soap is unique, handmade, and hand cut, the soap you receive may not look exactly like the one in the picture. Please allow for slight variations in color and texture.
Lard (or pig fat) functions as a hardening fat in the soap-making process and has been used for centuries. Lard also has moisturizing properties, is rich in nutrients and fatty acids, and has chemical compounds like those of human skin cells, making it a fantastic ingredient for conditioning the skin. We also use lard in our soaps because it produces a creamy lather that helps cleanse without stripping the skin of its natural oils.
While beef tallow might sound intimidating at first glance, it is an incredible ingredient with a long history in soap making and skincare. For one, tallow is rich in palmitic and stearic acids that help create a hard, long-lasting soap bar. These fatty acids also help condition the skin and work nicely alongside other moisturizing agents such as olive and coconut oil, creating a smooth, creamy lather. Tallow is also a more sustainable ingredient than palm oil because it is a beef by-product and can be sourced locally.
Raw cow’s milk is one of our favorite natural soap ingredients because it is high in fats, vitamins, and minerals that help renew the skin and support a healthy skin barrier. Using raw cow’s milk in our soap bars helps create a satisfying sudsy lather that supports smooth, supple skin. Raw cow’s milk is also incredibly gentle, so it’s safe for all skin types.
Yes! Many people who suffer from these conditions have found that when they discontinue the using products that contain harsh chemicals, synthetic fragrances, and irritating dyes and colorants, their conditions improve and clear up. Try Dandelion Naturals soap and see for yourself!
Our soaps can be used on the body, hands, and face and are gentle enough for daily use. To use, wet the soap bar and lather up your skin with the soap. Rinse off. Allow soap to drain and store dry. Soaps may be lathered up with hands, a washcloth, or a soap saver bag.
Yes. Our soaps are formulated for the face, hands, and body. However, the face is more sensitive and may react differently to a product than the skin on your body, so keep that in mind when cleansing.
Avoid direct contact with the eyes. Discontinue use if signs of irritation appear.
Yes, absolutely. Stick to the unscented bars for best results.
For oily, acne-prone skin, we recommend our soap bars containing tea tree, charcoal, turmeric, and lavender oils.
How long your soap bar lasts depends on the usage and care of the bar. If kept dried and well-drained between uses, your bar should last at least one month for one person. If the bar is used next to the sink for handwashing, it will last for months.
